Another Millennial Blog (I Know, I Know)

  • A Little Bit About Me

A (self-professed) aesthetically inclined and chronically witty creative writer with a B.A. in English (Concentration in Rhetoric) from the University of Illinois, I am most intrigued by beautiful things that also serve a functional purpose. An immaculate chef’s kitchen with no sink or a marble tiled bathroom with no toilet doesn’t make much sense. Neither does fancy copy with no intent or authenticity.

Over the years I’ve held positions in the sales, automotive, customer, and food-service industries, and I borrow insight from those experiences to help me better understand consumers’ motivations and readers’ expectations.

My creative projects cover topics such as mental illness, childhood trauma, queerness in all of its definitions, and grief. Having lost a best friend, my sister, and both parents by the time I was 30, loss is a topic I am intimately and profoundly concerned with. Despite a particularly ruthless case of imposter syndrome, and life’s constant looming, I cling sometimes haphazardly, but surprisingly optimistically, to the future and it’s yet to be revealed opportunities.

I am committed and dedicated to the creative process from conception to execution. While I advocate focusing on the bigger picture, I’m borderline obsessed with the finer details. (Ask me about my irrational fear of superfluous commas.)
